  • CONSIDERABLE FLOAT ORE MINED DURING WWI BY PLOWING GROUND AND PICKING OUT CHROMITE PEBBLES AND BOULDERS AND MOST OF ACTIVITY 1942-44 ALSO WAS DIRECTED AT RECOVERING THE FLOAT ORE BY SLUICING. NEARLY 400 LONG TONS SHIPPED IN 1917-18; FROM 1942-44, ABOUT 79 LONG TONS OF ORE SHIPPED.
