  • ACTIVE DURING 1880'S AND IN 1894 AS THE MELTON MINE; REOPENED IN 1928 AS MIDDLE END MINE AND OPERATED ALMOST CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL 1942. OPERATED BY COSUMNES MINES INC. FROM 1945-1950 WHEN PURCHASED BY PRESENT OWNER. DURING LAST YEARS OF OPERATION ORE CONTAINED AS MUCH AS $25 PER TON IN GOLD AND SULFIDE CONCENTRATES YIELDED FROM $100 TO $200 PER TON IN GOLD.
