Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOL.DESC: RHODONITE ORE INTERBEDDED WITH QUARTZITE, AND A COARSE GRAINED GABBRO CROPS OUT TO THE EAST OF THE ORE BODY WITH AN INTRUSIVE OR FAULT CONTACT. LOWER EXPOSURE OF ORE MAY BE FLOAT OR CONTINUATION OF UPPER BED. SMALL AMOUNTS OF PYRITE, NATIVE COPPER, MALACHITE (?) AND SOME SILICEOUS BROWN ORE ARE PRESENT.

Economic information about the deposit and operations

Development status Occurrence
Commodity type Metallic
Significant No

Comments on the production information

  • IT IS ESTIMATED THAT THERE ARE 250 TONS OF ORE IN ONE OUTCROP AND IF THE TWO EXPOSURES ARE PARTS OF THE SAME OREBODY, A MUCH LARGER TONNAGE IS AVAILABLE. A SMALL AMOUNT OF OXIDE ORE IS ALSO PRESENT BUT PROBABLY DOES NOT EXCEED MORE THAN ONE TON, AVERAGING 40 PERCENT MANGANESE.

Comments on the workings information

  • NO DEVELOPMENT.
