META SEDIMENTS ARE PART OF THE CALAVERAS GROUP. VEIN SYSTEM IS INTERSECTED AND ACCOMPANIED BY A FINE-GRAINED GREENISH GRANITIC DIKE APPROXIMATING QUARTZ-DIORITE. CASTELLO ( 1921 ) DESCRIBES A SLATE FOOTWALL & DIORITE HANGING WALL.

MUCH ORE MINED EARLIER RAN MORE THAN $25 AT THE OLD PRICE OF GOLD. INCOMPLETE RECORDS INDICATE TOTAL PRODUCTION OF AT LEAST $200,000 .

  • PRINCIPAL WORKING IS A 470 FT. INCLINED SHAFT WITH 4 LEVELS AND SEVERAL THOUSAND FEET OF DRIFTS. 130 FT. DRIFT ADIT. VEIN STOPED DISCONTINUOUSLY NEARLY 3000 FT. BETWEEN SURFACE & 300 FT. LEVEL MAIN ORE SHOOT WAS 400 FEET LONG NEAR THE SURFACE, SEVERAL OTHER SHOOTS, ONE OVER 100 FEET LONG.
