Deposit SUNSET VEIN CUTS GRANULAR RHYOLITE AND UNDERLYING ANDESITE. IN THE RHYOLITE THE VEIN CONTAINS TYPICAL BRECCIATED QUARTZ-CEMENTED ORE, BUT IN THE ANDESITE IT CONSISTS OF WHITE QUARTZ. THE VEIN VARIES FROM 2 IN.-2 FT AND CONTAINS OPEN CAVITIES WITH FREE GOLD; USGS MODEL MAY ALSO BE 25A: HOT-SPRING AU-AG.
