  • THE OPEN CUT WAS MINED IN 1917; DEPOSIT YIELDED 24 LONG TONS OF ORE CONTAINING ABOUT 52 PERCENT CR2O3. NILES MADE ONE REPORT THAT 9 LONG TONS OF ORE HAD BEEN MINED AND STOCKED IN 1918 AND ANOTHER THAT 5 TONS HAD BEEN SHIPPED THAT YEAR. TOTAL PRODUCTION AMTS. TO ABOUT 30 OR 35 LONG TONS OF ORE, MOST OF WHICH CAME FROM THE ORE BODY MINED FROM THE OPEN CUT.
