  • GEOL.DESC: 5 TO 7 FT. THICK MASS OF METAMORPHOSED CHERT IS MOSTLY BRIGHT YELLOW, AND ALTERS TO EARTHY LIMONITIC MATERIAL. WITHIN THE CHERT ARE IRREGULAR MASSES OF RESINOUS, BROWN TO RED AND DULL BUFF MATERIAL EVIDENTLY A RESULT OF METAMORPHISM OF MANGANIFEROUS OPAL AND SILICEOUS CARBONATE. GREENSTONE IS FOUND 10 YARDS AWAY, IN PLACE. BLACK MANGANESE OXIDES ARE FOUND IN JOINTS IN MANGANESE BEARING MATERIAL.
