Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOL.DESC: ORE OCCURS IN RED AND WHITE CHERT BELT THAT STRIKES N. W. AND DIPS 60 TO 80 N. TWO ORE ZONES EACH ABOUT 3 FT. THICK ARE SEPARATED BY BARREN ZONE IN BELT OF MASSIVE CHERT 200 FT. THICK. ORE CAN BE TRACED ALONG STRIKE FOR 40 FT. ORE ON N. SIDE OF MINERALIZED ZONE IS RICHER, ABOUT 40 PERCENT MANGANESE. IT CONSISTS OF BLACK OXIDES AT SURFACE, TO RHODOCHROSITE, HAUSMANNITE AND BEMENTITE WITH DEPTH. S. PART OF ORE ZONE IS MAINLY MANGANIFEROUS CHERT OR NEOTOCITE, ABOUT 15 PERCENT MANGANESE. SOME STAINS OF GREEN COPPER MINERALS ARE PRESENT.
