Deposit ORE ON DUMP CONSISTS OF EUHEDRAL TO SUBHEDRAL PYRITE CRYSTALS AND GRAINS DISSEMINATED IN MASSIVE TO SACCHROIDAL QUARTZ VEIN MATERIAL ALONG WITH MINOR CHALCOPYRITE AND COPPER OXIDES STAINING SHEARED MATERIAL. QUARTZITE ON DUMPS ALSO CARRIES VERY FINE-GRAINED DISSEMINATED SULFIDES, AS DOES A GREEN PHYLLITIC SHALE UNIT FOUND ON DUMP. WELL-FORMED CRYSTALS OF JAROSITE COAT FRACTURE SURFACES AND SERICITE IS ABUNDANT. MINOR GOSSAN WAS NOTED. QUARTZITE BRECCIA IS CEMENTED WITH OPALINE SILICA AND IS STAINED WITH FE AND MN OXIDES. LATE STAGE SILICA COATS EXPOSED SURFACES. MAPS SHOW A SERIES OF PARALLEL N10-30W FAULTS HERE. THIS IS INDIRECTLY CONFIRMED BY FAULTING UPSLOPE FROM THE WORKINGS. LOCALLY THE SEDIMENTS HAVE BEEN PARTIALLY SILICIFIED.
