Comments on the geologic information

  • ORE SHOOT IN N-S VEIN AT FRACTURE INTERSECTION, 40 FT. LONG, 3.5 FT WIDE, SEVERAL VEINS STRIKE N 30 W TO N 30 E . MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN GOUGE MATERIAL. AT UPPER ADIT, HOST ROCK IS ORANGE WEATHERED QUARTZITE OR SILTY SANDSTONE WHICH FORMS 0.5-2 FT THICK BEDS STRIKING N10W, DIP 35 NE. THE ROCK ON THE DUMP IS SLIGHTLY LAMINATED VITREOUS GREY (FRESH) QUARTZITE WHICH SHOWS SOME CALCITE AND QUARTZITE VEINING. THE ROCKS ARE SILICIFIED, RECRYSTALLIZED, WITH SOME SERICITE IN MATRIX. IN GENERAL, THE QUARTZITES ARE COVERED WITH ABUNDANT IRON OXIDES AND YELLOW AND GREEN OXIDES OF PERHAPS AS, PB, FE, OR OTHER. SOME OF THE ALTERED QUARTZITES CONTAIN IRON-STAINED QUARTZ- AND CALCITE-FILLED VUGS. ADITS LINE UP ALONG N- TO NE-TRENDING VEIN SYSTEMS, WHICH APPARENTLY FOLLOW THE BEDDING OF THE HOST ROCKS. THE BEDDING PLANE FRACTURES WERE APPARENTLY THE MAIN STRUCTURAL CONTROL FOR VEIN EMPLACEMENT, AS NOT MUCH BRECCIA WAS OBSERVED.. MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN GOUGE MATERIAL. AT UPPER ADIT, HOST ROCK IS
