Comments on the geologic information

  • LAC DES ILES COMPLEX COMPOSED OF 2 UNITS: NORTHERN ULTRAMAFICS (PERIDOTITE, CLINOPYROXENITE, WEBSTERITE, GABBRO) AND SOUTHERN GABBROS, DIVIDED INTO EAST AND WEST UNITS. WESTERN UNIT SULFIDE-RICH AND PEGMATITIC. EASTERN UNIT OXIDE-RICH WITH SULFIDE-POOR NORITES AND GABBROS. FIELD EVIDENCE SHOWS WESTEN GABBROS EMPLACED FIRST, THEN EASTERN GABBROS, FINALLY ULTRAMAFICS.
