  • SHAFTS, DRIFTS, GLORY HOLE, PITS. ADIT TRENDS N80W ON NE SIDE OF HALBURG MOUNTAIN, SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET LONG. ABOVE ADIT AND EXTENDING APPROXIMATE-LY HALFWAY UP MOUNTAIN ARE A SERIES OF DOZER CUTS SEVERAL HUND-RED FEET LONG. KNOB TO NORTH OF ADIT HAS 2 DOZER CUTS. CUTS AN-D SMALL PITS ARE IN BOTTOM AND ALONG SIDES OF SMALL RAVINE THA-T TRENDS WEST BETWEEN ADIT AND KNOB TO NORTH. A 2-PIPE RETORT -LIES TO THE EAST OF ADIT ABOUT 200 YDS, IN FAIRLY GOOD SHAPE. -NEW CAT CUTS HAVE WIPED OUT OLDER SHAFTS SHOWN ON TOPO MAP (19-84).

Deposit ORE HAD NOT BOTTOMED OUT AS OF 1944. FRACTURE FILLING, VEINLETS, REPLACEMENT. ALL WORKINGS ARE IN RHYOLITE; SILICIFIED AND EXTENSIVELY FE-STAINED THRO-UGHOUT WORKINGS
Deposit THE PROPERTY WAS DISCOVERED BY H.W. BALDWIN IN 1936. AFTER SEVERAL ABORTIVE ATTEMPTS AT DEVELOPMENT IN THE LATE 190'S, THE PROPERTY WAS LEASED BY MELVIN MCCOY AND JOHN HARDIN IN 1941 WHO DEEPENED THE SHAFT AND RECOVERED 47 FLASKS FROM RETURTS. 94 FLASKS WERE RECOVERED IN 1942. IN 1943, THE PROPERTY WAS OPTIONED BY THE MOLYBDENIM PRODUCTS COMPANY OF TACOMA, WA, WITH NO DEV. OR PRODUCTION THRU 1943 THE PROPERTY LAYIDLE THRU AT LEAST 1956. LARGEST WORKINGS WERE NEAR N. END OF AN 800-FT LONG OUTCROP OF SILICIFIED RHYLOLITE, AND CONSISTS A 76-FT. SHAFT WITH ASSOCIATED UNDERGROUND WORKINGS TOTALLING ABOUT 160 FT. OTHER WORKINGS SOUTH OF THIS INCLUDE A GLORY HOLE, 50 FT ADIT 25-FT SHAFT AND OTHER SHALLOW SURFACE WORKINGS. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
