| Deposit | SOME EXCEPTIONALLY WELL-FORMED CINNABAR CRYSTALS WERE HAND-SORTED AND SOLD TO MINERAL COLLECTORS. DISCOVERED IN FEB., 1940, AND LEASED TO N.H. GETCHELL WHO BUILT A STEEP ROAD TO THE MAIN ADIT, WHICH EXTENDS 73 FT. INTO THE HILL. ADITS OCCUR BOTH ON EAST AND WEST SIDES OF HOT SPRINGS PEAK.. | Deposit | LARGE CINNABAR CRYSTALS OCCUR IN QUARTZ VEINS WHICH FORM A STOCKWORK IN SANDY LIMESTONE WHICH HAS BEEN SILICIFIED -AND LOCALLY BRECCIATED. SCHUETTEITE OCCURS AS COATINGS ON CINN-ABAR, AND CALCITE RARELY OCCURS IN THE CENTRAL PART OF THE VEI-N. |
