| Deposit | CINNABAR OCCURS WITH WHITE CALCITE AND CHALCEDONY VEINLETS IN GRAY LIMESTONE, QUARTZ SANSTONE AND OLIVE SILTSTONE (BASED ON A FEW DUMP SPECIMENS). THE WORKINGS FOLLOW EAST-WEST FAULT AND GOUGE ZONES WHICH APPEAR NEARLY VERTICAL. THE ROCKS ARE LOCALLY SLIGHTLY SILICIFIED AND IRON-STAINED. BAILEY ET AL (1984) REPORT THAT THE SHEARS DIP STEEPLY NORTHWARD. SPECIMENS OF BROKEN, IRON-STAINED QUARTZITE ON THE DUMP CONTAIN CINNABAR IN CRYSTALS AS MUCH AS 1 MM IN DIAMETER ASSOCIATED WITH ABUNDANT QUARTZ VEINLETS.; MODEL NAME COULD ALSO BE: SIMPLE SB. |
