General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit A SMALL ROOF PENDANT OF QUARTZITE NEAR CONTACT WITH GRANODIORITE. THE GRANODIORITE IS STRONGLY WEATHERED INTO GRUSS. THE QUARTZITE IS HIGHLY FRACTURED AND HAS URANOPHANE COATINGS ON FRACTURES WITHIN THE SMALL AREA. URANOPHANE AND URANIFEROUS HYALINE OPAL ARE ASSOCIATED WITH INTRICATE AND COMPLEX LIMONITE-FILLED EASTERLY-TRENDING FRACTURES IN A QUARTZITE. HIGH RADIOACTIVITY IS PRESENT ALONG A 2-3 FT ZONE. A PEGMATITE DIKE CROPS OUT A FEW FEET AWAY. HIGHEST GRADE IS IN A 1-1.5 FT ZONE. FRACTURES IN QUARTZITE SHOW HIGHEST COUNT OF RADIOACTIVITY, ESPECIALLY IN A 6-INCH ZONE ON UPPER SIDE OF PENDANT AND AT BASE IN GRANODIORITE. REDUCTANT WAS PROBABLY PYRITE OR MARCASITE.
