General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THE ORE OCCURS IN QUARTZ VEINS EMPLACED ALONG BEDDING PLANES IN COMPLEXLY FOLDED LIMESTONE. THE NUMBER OF MINERALIZED QUARTZ VEINS AT THE MINE IS DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE BECAUSE SINGLE VEINS ARE INTRICATELY FOLDED AND REPEATED.
Deposit MINE WAS EXTENSIVELY WORKED BETWEEN 1870 AND 1919. TOTAL PRODUCTION IS UNKNOWN BUT THE EXTENT OF DEVELOPMENT AT THE MINE SUGGESTS THAT A LARGE TONNAGE OF ORE WAS REMOVED. THE MINE IS DEVELOPED BY NUMEROUS OPEN CUTS, SHORT ADITS, AND INCLINED AND VERTICAL SHAFTS WITHIN AN AREA ABOUT 1,000 FT. IN LENGTH AND 300 TO 400 FEET IN WIDTH. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT
