Comments on the geologic information

  • FLUORSPAR IS EXPOSED IN 3 PRINCIPAL AREAS. THE SOUTHERN MOST OCCURS IN LIMESTONE WITH A FEW 1 TO 2 FT THICK. CLAYSTONE BEDS; ALTERED MATERIAL IS QUARTZ, CALCITE & KAOLINITE WITH A FEW IRREGULAR PODS OF FLUORSPAR PRESENT IN THE ALTERED ROCK. IN THE SECOND AREA, 800 FT. NE OF THE FIRST, CARBONATES HAVE BEEN ALTERED (ARGILLIZED & SILICIFIED) AND BRECCIATED AND CONTAINS ABUNDANT IRON OXIDES AND FLUORSPAR IN VEINLETS, SMALL PODS, AND AT LEAST 3 LARGE, IRREGULAR PODS. THE THIRD AREA, 700 FT FARTHER NORTH IN AN ADJACENT CANYON, IS IN A CONGLOMERATE CONSISTING OF SMALL CHERT & DOLOMITE FRAGMENTS IN A DOLOMITE MATRIX AND CONTAINS SMALL AMOUNT FLUORITE IN IRREGULAR VEINLETS & SMALL MASSES.
