  • THE AG-PB ORE OCCURS IN LENTICULAR REPLACEMENT DEPOSITS IN LIMESTONE ALONG A FAULT WHICH DIPS 60-70 DEGREES WEST. THE VOLCANICLASTIC PERMIAN KOIPATO GROUP IS EXPOSED ON THE WEST SIDE, WHILE LIMESTONES AND DOLOMITES OF THE PRIDA, AUGUSTA, AND CANE SPRING FORMATIONS ARE ON THE EAST. VEINS AVERAGE ABOUT 3 FEET IN WIDTH

Deposit NO STRUCTURE OR ORE MINERALS COULD BE OBSERVED AT THE SITE. A DUMP 400 M NNW IS VERY RED WITH GOSSAN. THESE PROPER-TIES APPEAR TO BE VERY SIMILAR TO THOSE NORTH OF CHERRY CREEK -CANYON (LAND ROVER CLAIMS). IT IS DOUBTFUL THAT ANY ORE, ESPEC-IALLY SULFIDE ORE, WAS PRODUCED HERE (SEE JOHNSON, 1977). FRAG-MENTS OF BARITE WERE SEEN IN FLOAT.
Deposit SILVER-LEAD ORE WAS DISCOVERED IN THE DISTRICT IN THE 1880'S AND INTERMITTENTLY MINED TO 1945. THE PROPERTY WAS SURVEYED ALONG CHERRY CREEK IN THE 1920'S AS THE SOLID METAL & FINANCE CLAIMS. THE MINE IS DEVELOPED BY A SHAFT, CROSSCUT TUNNEL, AND DRIFTS TO INTERSECT THE ORE DEPOSIT AT ABOUT 500 FEET BELOW THE SURFACE ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
Deposit Discovery Year: 1880'S
