  • THESE WORKINGS EXPLORE QUARTZ VEINS IN PHYLLITE AND SLATE NEAR CONTACTS WITH GRANODIORITE PLUTONS. RECENT SAMPLING INDICATES LITTLE ORE. THE DISTRICT DID PRODUCE SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF SILVER, BUT FOR WANT OF ORE THE MILLS WORKED SPORADICALLY. MOST OF THE ORE WAS FOUND AT OR NEAR THE SURFACE.
