Comments on the workings information

  • ACCORDING TO BAILEY & PHOENIX, THIS PROPERTY WAS FIRST LOCATED IN THE 1870'S FOR LEAD & SILVER. THE AREA WAS EXPLORED FOR SILVER, LEAD, & TUNGSTEN IN 1942. AT THIS TIME, THE CINNABAR WAS DISCOVERED, OCCURING WITH JAROSITE IN A 3-FOOT WIDE, NORTHWEST-TRENDING, NEAR VERTICAL FRACTURE ZONE. SCHEELITE OCCURS IN TACTITE FORMED NEAR THE CONTACT OF A GRANITIC ROCK WITH LIMEY SHALE, SLATE, AND HORNFELS. DURING 1944, A 34-TON SHIPMENT OF 0.6% WO3 WAS MADE (MOORE, P 31) TO THE METALS RESERVE DEPOT IN SALT LAKE CITY (OVERTON, P 43)
