  • MINE DISCOVERED IN 1954, LEASED TO HOMES TAKE MINING CO IN 1955, INSUFFICIENT ORE RESERVES FOUND TO JUSTIFY LARGE OPERATION. SINCE 1955, HAS BEEN OPERATED BY A NUMBER OF LESSEES. PUBLISHED PRODUCTION FIGURES ARE UNAVAILABLE, BUT AT LEAST ONE CARLOAD OF ORE WAS SHIPPED IN 1966. MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN AND ADJACENT TO A DIABASE DIKE WHICH INTRUDES WELDED ASH FLOW TUFF OF HARTFORD HILL RHYOLITE. FOOTWALL CONTACT HAS BEEN FAULTED. HIGHER GRADE ORE OCCURS IN SHOOTS WITHIN WELDED TUFF IN FOOTWALL OF FAULT.
