Comments on the workings information

  • URANIUM MINERALS OCCUR AS SMALL DISSEMINATED GRAINS IN ASH FLOW TUFFS OF HARTFORD HILL RHYOLITE. MINERALIZATION IS APPARENTLY ASSOCIATED WITH NARROW, IRON-STAINED SILICIFIED VEINLETS. PRINCIPAL ZONE OF MINERALIZATION IS AT LEAST 140 FT LONG BY 90 FT WIDE, URANIUM MINERALS OCCUR IN 120' BY 20 FT WIDE. MINE OPERATORS HAD DIFFICULTY MAINTAINING GRADES DURING THEIR OPERATION. A MODERATE TONNAGE OF MATERIAL AVERAGING SOMEWHAT LESS THAN 0.2% U3O8 IS STILL PRESENT. (GARSIDE, P 105.)
