  • LOCATED IN A TERTIARY CHANNEL WHICH CAN BE TRACED FROM A POINT NEAR INCLINE ON LAKE TAHOE TO A POINT EAST OF THE SOUTH SHORE OF WASHOE LAKE. GRAVELS ARE COMPOSED OF METAMORPHIC AND IGNEOUS ROCKS FROM THE SIERRAS, THE GRAVELS ARE CUT AND OFFSET BY NUMEROUS FAULTS, AND CONTAIN LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER WHICH HAMPERED EARLY OPERATIONS
