  • RADIOACTIVITY OCCURS IN A PARTIALLY WELDED ASH-FLOW TUFF OF THE HARTFORD HILL RHYOLITE. CARBONIZED WOOD FRAGMENTS ARE PRESENT IN THE MINERALIZED UNIT, AND ARE THE MOST RADIOACTIVE. SLIGHT RADIOACTIVITY (UP TO 2 TIMES BACKGROUND) WAS NOTED NEAR A DIABASE DIKE WHICH CUTS THE HARTFORD, AND ALONG MINOR FRACTURES, (GARSIDE P. 107)
