Comments on the workings information

  • FLOW ROCKS ARE HIGHLY ALTERED, AND HAVE UNDERGONE SURFACE BLEACHING. BLEACHING HAS RESULTED IN ALTERATION OF ANDESITE TO MIXTURE OF QUARTZ, ILLITE, AND IRON OXIDES. BODIES OF IRON-OXIDE STAINED QUARTZ OCCUR ALONG FRACTURE ZONES IN THE ANDESITE. THE QUARTZ LENSES DO NOT EXTEND MORE THAN 20-30 FEET BELOW SURFACE, AND ARE EVIDENTLY PRODUCTS OR REDISTRIBUTION OF SILICA DURING WEATHERING AND BLEACHING. THE ANDESITES BELOW THE ZONE OF WEATHERING ARE DARK GREYISH-GREEN PHOPYLICED ROCK SPECKLED WITH PYRITE. THE ANDESITE FLOWS HAVE BEEN INTRUDED BY DIKES OF GRANODIORITE PORPHYRY. ORE MINERALIZATION OCCURED IN STOCKWORKS IN NORTHWEST AND NORTH TRENDING FRACTURE ZONES (BONHAM P 92)
