Comments on the workings information

  • ALTERED ZONE CRUDELY CIRCULAR, APPROX 1 MILE IN DIA, CENTERED OVER A GRANODIORITE PORPHYRY OF TERTIARY AGE. THE GD PORPHYRY INTRUDES MESOZOIC GRANODIORITE, MESOZOIC METAVOLCANIC ROCKS, AND ANDESITE OF THE TERTIARY ALTA FORMATION. ALL OF THESE ROCKS HAVE BEEN HYDROTDERMALLY ALTERED, (PYRITIZED) BLEACHED. THE ALTERED ROCK FROM BENEATH THE ZONE OF WEATHERING CONSISTS ESSENTIALLY OF PYRITE, QUARTZ, SERICITE. PYRITE OCCURS IN VEINLETS AND DISSEMINATED THROUGHOUT THE ROCK. (BONHAM, P 78) NOTE: ALL OF THE PUBLISHED DESCRIPTIONS OF THE NEVADA CENTRAL MINE PLACE IT AT THIS LOCATION (SEC 36, T20N, R18E). HOWEVER, LAND RECORDS SHOW THAT THE NEVADA CENTRAL GOLD MINING COMPANY PATENTED CLAIMS ARE IN SECTION 31, T20N, R19E.
