Comments on the geologic information

  • MILKY QUARTZ VEINS AND VEINLETS CONTAIN SPARSE REMNANTS OF THE HYPOGENE MINERALS BORNITE, PYRITE, MAGNETITE, AND CHALCOPYRITE. IRON OXIDE OCCURS AS BOXWORKS AND FRACTURE COATINGS. VEINS ARE REPORTEDLY GOLD-BEARING (HUDSON,1977). VEIN ATTITUDES ARE NOT OBVIOUS ALTHOUGH BONHAM (1969) REPORTS BOTH PARALLEL AND CROSS-CUTTING ATTITUDES. BLACK TOURMALINE OCCURS AS BRECCIA FILLINGS, VEINLETS, AND REPLACEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MINERALIZATION. VEINS ARE PROBABLY LATE-STAGE SKARN-RELATED. THE CONTACT METASOMATIC MINERALIZATION COULD BE RELATED TO CRETACEOUS GRANODIORITE OR JURASSIC MAGMATISM COEVAL WITH THE PEAVINE SEQUENCE VOLCANIC AND SUBVOLCANIC ROCKS. OTHER SIMILAR COPPER PROSPECTS OCCUR ON PEAVINE PEAK.

Deposit SAMPLE #3333 IS SELECT SULFIDE MATERIAL FROM A SMALL ORE PILE- PYRITE, BORNITE, QUARTZ. SAMPLE #4122 IS SELECT QUARTZ VEIN MATTER FROM PITS AND OLD ADITS. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
Deposit COPPER MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN LENSES OF QUARTZ AND BRECCIATED, SCHISTOSE META-ANDESITE. THE LENSES ARE PARALLEL TO THE SCHISTOSITY OF THE META-VOLCANICS. THE MAIN ORE BODY OCCURS AS OVERLAPPING LENSES IN A ZONE 200 FEET LONG AND 50 FEET DEEP, WHICH DIP 20 DEG SE (BONHAM P 80) MS 4832 SHOWS PATENTED CLAIM NAMES.
