  • OXIDIZED AND SULFIDE COPPER MINERALS OCCUR IN A SERIES OF AT LEAST THREE VEINS FROM 4 TO 7 FEET WIDE WITH A GENERAL NORTH AND SOUTH STRIKE AND DIPPING FROM 50 TO 80 DEGREES EAST. THE GANGUE IS PRINCIPALLY QUARTZ, CALCITE, AND COUNTRY ROCK.

QUARTZ VEIN MATTER - WITH LESSER CALCITE (PARTLY LATER THAN QUARTZ) IN THE ZONE CO-NTAINS PYRITE, CHALCOPYRITE, AND LIMONITE, MALACHITE AND RARE -AZURITE. THE QUARTZ VEIN MATTER IS MILKY WITH LOCAL COCKADE ST-RUCTURE. A PROSPECT PIT ON RIDGE 200 M EAST OF MINE IS SIMILAR-, BUT CONTAINS MORE LIMONITE GOSSAN IN QUARTZ VEIN MATTER ALON-G A N-TRENDING 45 DEGREE EAST FAULT CRUSH ZONE UP TO 2 M WIDE.- TAN TO PINK CALCITE OCCURS AS GANGUE AND IS PARAGENETICALLY L-ATER THAN QUARTZ.
Deposit FIRST LOCATIONS WERE MADE IN 1863, NO RECORD OF PRODUCTION FROM EARLY WORK. NEVADA HARMONY MINES DID CONSIDERABLE WORK IN 1918, BUT MADE NO PRODUCTION. WOLVERINE COPPER CO.
