Comments on the geologic information

  • HEMATITE AND MAGNETITE OCCUR AS REPLACEMENTS IN ALTERRED ANDESITE & DACITE TUFF, ALONG NORTH TRENDIGN SHEAR ZONES. INDIVIDUAL BEDS OF VOLCANIC WACKE HAVE BEEN SELECTIVELY REPLACED. THE IRON WAS PROBABLY DERIVED FROM DEUTERICALLY ALTERRED LOWER CRET. PLUTONIC ROCK, AND TRANSPORTED BY HYDROTHERMAL FLUIDS (MUFFLER, 1964)
