Comments on the geologic information

  • HTE LODE STRIKES NORTHWEST AND DIPS SOUTHWEST WITH LIMESTONE ON THE HANGING WALL AND DIORITE ON THE FOOTWALL. IT HAS A REPORTED LENGTH OF 2,500 FEET AND IS 150 FEET WIDE IN PLACES. IT HAS BEEN OPENED BY THE MEEK, TURPIN, AND EXPLORATION SHAFTS TO DEPTHS OF 70 FEE. PRINCIPAL METAL IS IRON AS MAGNETITE & HEMATITE. THERE IS ALSO SOME UPPER SHOWINGS AND A FAIR TENOR IN GOLD AND SILVER. WHERE THE LIMESTONE WAS NOT REPLACED BY IRON MINERALS IT HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO A GARNET, EPIDOTE, QUARTZ, MOMTRONITE SKARN ALONG THE DIORITE CONTACT. (SHCRADER, F.C. 1934).
