Deposit WELL-BEDDED BARITE HAS BEEN EXPLORED BY TRENCHES IN AN AREA 200 M LONG N-S AND AS MUCH AS 90 M WIDE. IN THE NORTHE-RN PART OF THIS AREA, FIVE INDIVIDUAL BARITE UNITS APPEAR TO B-E PRESENT IN THE 90-M WIDTH. THE UNITS, WHICH MAY HAVE LENTICU-LAR FORM, HAVE AN EXPOSED MAXIMUM STRIKE LENGTH OF 35 M, ARE 1-.8-3.6 M THICK AND GENERALLY DIP 40-60 E. THE BARITE CONFORMS -TO THE ADJACENT ROCKS, WHICH ARE SHALE AND SUBORDINATE LIMESTO-NE OF THE PREBLE FM. A DACITIC ROCK, PROBABLY OCCURRING AS A S-ILL IS PRESENT IN SOME PLACES, BUT THE RELATIONSHIP OF THIS RO-CK TO THE BARITE IS UNCERTAIN. THE BARITE IS MEDIUM-LIGHT GRAY- TO LIGHT OLIVE GRAY, VERY FINE-GRAINED, FETID, AND CONTAINS A- SMALL AMOUNT OF QUARTZ.
