Deposit THREE TUNNELS WERE DRIVEN BY THE NATIONAL MAMMOTH MINING CO. NEAR THE CLAIM BOUNDARIES OF THE NATIONAL MINES CO. ONE VEIN IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE SOUTHERN EXTENSION OF THE NATIONAL VEIN. IN 1962, WHELCHEL MINES REOPENED THE MAMMOTH PORTAL AND DID SOME RE-TIMBERING, AND SANK 2 EXPLORATURY WINZES. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
