Deposit ORE WAS SHIPPED IN 1908. THE MINE WAS WORKED MAINLY FROM 1905 TO 1911 WITH LATER REOPENINGS. SOME MINING WAS DONE ABOUT 1920. IN 1936 AND 1937 MUCH OF THE ACTIVITY OF THE AUSTIN SILVER MINING CO. WAS CONCENTRATED HERE AND SOME ORE WAS MILLED. THE MINE IS ONE OF THE FEW THAT CONTAINS ENOUGH GOLD TO BE OF COMMERCIAL INTEREST. THE RICHEST AVAILABLE ASSAY SHOWED 2.48 OUNCES OF GOLD AND 365 OUNCES OF SILVER TO THE TON.
