    Width 2.44M

Controls for ore emplacement

Comments on the geologic information

  • VEIN IN IRREGULAR FRACTURE IN EXCELSIOR FORMATION NEAR NORTH CONTACT WITH GRANITIC ROCK. ORE IN SMALL LENSES AND LARGE SHOOTS WITH A PERSISTENT PITCH TO THE WEST. THE FRACTURE TOOK PLACE AFTER THE INTRUSION OF GRANITIC ROCK AND CUTS THE LIMESTONE, GRANITE AND CONTACT. IN GENERAL, IT FOLLOWS THE CONTACT RATHER CLOSELY. POST-MINERAL MOVEMENT HAS PRODUCED GOUGE ALONG HANGING WALL, AND HAS CRUSHED THE VEIN MATERIAL. THE RICHEST ORE CARRIES 2,000 TO 3,000 OZS. OF AG/TON IN A GANGUE OF QUARTZ AND BARITE. THE LOW GRADE ORE CONSISTS OF CRUSHED AND SILICIFIED WALL ROCK CARRYING DISSEMINATED GALENA, TETRAHEDRITE, SPHALERITE, AND PYRITE. OXIDIZED MINERALS CHIEFLY LINARITE AND BRONCHANTITE. ABUNDANT ANTIMONY-BEARING MINERALS ENCOUNTERED IN ONE ADIT.
