Economic information

Controls for ore emplacement

  • Granite-Dike Contact

Comments on the geologic information

  • THE COUNTRY ROCK IS GRANITE WITH INTRUSIVE DIKES. COPPER ORE APPEARS IN AND NEAR THE CONTACT OF TWO OF THESE DIKES AND FOR OVER A HUNDRED FEET FROM THE CONTACT. THE SILICIOUS AND BASIC INTRUSIVE ROCKS ARE COVERED IN PLACES BY LIMESTONE WHICH WAS PROBABLY THE INTRUDED ROCK AND ONLY LIES ON AND NEAR THE SURFACE. THE DIKES STRIKE A LITTLE NORTH OF WEST AND DIP SOUTH 60 DEGREES. COPPER OF VARIOUS VALUES IS FOUND ALONG THE CONTACT FOR OVER TWELVE HUNDRED FEET. THE IDAHO EXTENSION SHAFT HIT ORE ABOUT 8 FT. WIDE WITH CU-SULFIDES AND-OXIDES RUNNING 10% CU. THE ROSS SHAFT IS LOCATED ON OUTCROP OF AZURITE WHICH DIPPED OUT OF SHAFT 15 FEET, THIS ORE GAVE BETTER THAN 18% CU. ON ABE LINCOLN EXTENSION CLAIM HEMATITE AND LIMONITE CARRIES GOLD VALUES.
