| Deposit | THIS PROSPECT WAS DISCOVERED IN 1908 BY W.T. MC ARDLE. THE PROPERTY COMPRISES A GROUP OF 6 OR MORE CLAIMS TRENDING NE FOR OVER A MILE. IT IS OPENED BY SEVERAL SHAFTS, THE DEEPEST BEING 45 FEET. THE DEPOSITS ARE REPLACEMENT DEPOSITS IN ASSOCIATION WITH A QUARTZ SYENITE PORPHYRY OR APLITIC DIKE WHICH DIPS 65 NW., AND IS 6 FEET IN MAXIMUM WIDTH. IN PLACES THE SILICIFIED DIKE AND VEIN CROPPINGS STAND BOLDLY FROM 1 TO 8 FT. ABOVE THE GROUND SURFACE. AS EXPOSED BY SHAFTS ON SEVERAL OF THE CLAIMS, THE FOOTWALL SIDE OF THE DIKE SHOWS A VEIN 6 INCHES TO 2 FEET IN WIDTH, COMPOSED OF COPPER CARBONATES, OXIDES, AND CHALCOPYRITE IN A QUARTZ GANGUE. THE ORE ALSO CONTAINS CONSIDERABLE AG; SOME ASSAYS REPORT AS HIGH AS 38 OZ/TON AG (SCHRADER, 1912, P 143). THESE ARE THE ROSE O'CONNELL CLAIMS (SCHRADER, 1935, MAP CLAIM) MAP POINT SELECTED TO MATCH DESCRIPTION IN SCHRADER. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT |
