Comments on the geologic information

  • GRANODIORITE IS UNUSUALLY DARK WITH FAR MORE THAN THE ORDINARY AMOUNT OF GREEN HORNBLENDE, AND IS CRUSHED, SHEARED, PRESSED, AND SHISTOSE. BOTH GRANODIORITE AND LIMESTONE ARE CUT BY DIKES OF COARSE QUARTZ SYENITE PORPHYRY YOUNGER THAN THE SHEARING (SCHRADER, 1912, P 142).

Deposit TUNNEL SHOWS 6 TO 18 INCHES OF BANDED & CRUSHED PARTLY MINERALIZED VEIN MATERIAL FOR MUCH OF ITS LENGTH. SHAFT IS ON THE GRANODIORITE-LIMESTONE CONTACT. ORE IS OXIDIZED TO 100 FEET DOWN, AT LEAST
Deposit THIS GROUP COMPRISES 9 OR MORE CLAIMS AND COVERS MOST OF JOHNSON HILL. THE PRINCIPAL OPENINGS ARE A 400-FOOT TUNNEL AND A 100-FOOT SHAFT. THE TUNNEL SHOWS 6 INCHES TO 18 INCHES OF BANDED AND CRUSHED PARTLY MINERALIZED VEIN MATERIAL FOR MUCH OF ITS LENGTH; HOWEVER, COPPER CARBONATE STAINING IS VERY SPORADIC AND THERE IS NO TRACE OF ORE. THE SHAFT IS ALSO LOCATED ON THE GRANODIORITE-LIMESTONE CONTACT AND AT 100 FEET IS STILL IN THE OXIDIZED ZONE (SCHRADER, 1912, 141-2). ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
