Deposit ALONG THE FAULT ZONE, ROCKS ARE FOLDED AND FRACTURED. ORANGE-BROWN JASPERY GOSSAN IS DEPOSITED ALONG ZONE AND EXTENDS OUTWARD ALONG BEDDING IN THE LIMESTONE WALLROCKS. IRREGULAR REPLACEMENT PODS AND LENSES ARE PARALLEL TO BEDDING OF SILICIFIED, FE-ALTERED LIMESTONE. GOSSAN IS SLIGHTLY POROUS, SILICEOUS, AND CONTAINS A MIXTURE OF LIMONITE, HEMATITE, FE-OXIDES AND WHITE POWDERY CALCITE. SAMPLE 1715 CONSISTS OF FE-STAINED, OXIDIZED, CALCITE-VEINED LIMESTONE. SAMPLE LOCATION 1716 LIES ABOVE AND NW OF MAIN ADIT HERE, A SINUOUS ADIT EXPLORES A S-DIPPING REPLACEMENT ZONE IN THIN-TO-MEDIUM-BEDDED, GREY LIMESTONE. THE ZONE IS MARKED BY FRACTURING AND ABUNDANT LIMONITE AND GOSSAN. THE ZONE PARALLELS E-W BEDDING, BUT BRECCIATED APPEARANCE INDICATES THAT IT LIES ALONG AN E-W BEDDING PLANE FAULT. ROCK ON DUMP IS RELATIVELY UNSILICIFIED AND ALTERED TO LIMONITE AND CLAY GOUGE. CALCITE CEMENTS BRECCIA. IT LOOKS LIKE TYPICAL AG ORE, I.E. COMPLETELY OXIDIZED AND NO MINERALS OBSERVED OTHER THAN YELLOW
Deposit AND GREEN OXIDES, POSSIBLY AFTER CL, AS, PB OR SB?
Deposit THIS IS NOT THE MINE DESCRIBED AS THE KING MIDAS MINE IN BULL 73, BUT IT IS LARGEST IN DISTRICT AND MUST BE THE MAJOR PRODUCER ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
