| Deposit | MOST OF DUMP ROCK IS COMPOSED OF GRAY OR REDDISH LIMESTONE WITH HEMATITE(?)-FILLED GIRVANELLA ALGALOOVIDS. SOME OF THE ROCKS ARE BRECCIATED OR DISPLAY SILICA-CEMENTED FINE BRECCIA ZONES. OTHER LIMESTONE BRECCIA ON THE DUMP IS CEMENTED BY WHITE CALCITE. THE PRESENCE OF BRECCIA SLICKENSIDES INDICATES THAT THE ADIT FOLLOWS OR INTERCEPTS A FAULT ZONE, ALTHOUGH NO SUCH STRUCTURE IS OBVIOUS AT PORTAL. SAMPLE 1742 CONSISTS OF A FINE LIMESTONE BRECCIA CEMENTED WITH WHITE CALCITE WHICH CARRIES SCATTERED CRYSTALS OF OXIDIZED PYRITE. THE ROCKS SHOW SOME HEMATITE STAINING ALSO.? |
