Deposit QUARTZ VEIN ALONG SHEAR ZONE IN MODERATELY KAOLINIZED RHYOLITE TUFF. VEIN ONLY A FEW INCHES WIDE WITHIN 4-5 FT WIDE BRECCIATED ZONE. BRECCIATED WALLROCK IS FE-OXIDE STAINED, VEIN HAS SOME MNO. VEIN IS VUGGY, WITH QUARTZ, WHITE ADULARIA, AND QUARTZ PSEUDOMORPHS AFTER ADULARIA. ACICULAR QUARTZ CRYSTALS COAT VUGS. EXPOSURES IN UPPER (SOUTHERN) CUTS SHOW PURPLISH RHYOLITE BRECCIA, STREAKY IN APPEARANCE, IN SW WALL OF 2-FT WIDE CHALCEDONIC QUARTZ-CEMENTED BRECCIA, HAS 2 FT OF SOFT KAOLINIZED, IRON-OXIDE-STAINED RUBBLE ON NE WALL. BOTH CALCITE AND JAROSITE ARE PRESENT IN VEIN HERE.
