  • 60 DEGREES INCLINED SHAFT 250 FT DEEP, WITH 5 LEVELS 40 FT APART; GALLOWS FRAME HOIST, SKIP COMPRESSOR, JACKHAMMERS AND STOPERS. ORIGINAL TRENCHES AND PITS.

  • ORIGINALLY PROSPECTED FOR COPPER. HAND HIRED 2 MINERS (JACK MONTGOMERY & AL STEVENS) TO MINE IN 1920'S; IN 1927 HE LEASED THE PROPERTY TO BERT KOPENHAVER, WHO SANK A SHAFT ON THE VEIN. IN 1928, HAND SOLD A HALF INTEREST TO "DOC" WILSON AND THE SHAFT WAS DEEPENED TO 85 FT. IN 1935 HAND SOLD HIS REMAINING HALF INTEREST TO WILSON. STONES WERE SHIPPED TO SANGABRIEL WHERE THEY WERE CUT. THE LARGEST NUGGET FROM THE MINE WAS 4 IN BY 3 IN BY 0.75 IN.
