Deposit A SERIES OF ANDESITE AND BASALT FLOWS SEPARATED BY A PYROCLASTIC UNIT WHICH HAS BEEN HYDROTHERMALLY ALTERED TO HALLOYSITE. MOST OF THE PYROCLASTIC UNIT AND CLAY HORIZONS ARE NEARLY CONFORMABLE TO THE UNDERLYING AND OVERLYING VOLCANIC ROCKS. THE HALLOYSITE IS A COMPACT, BRITTLE MATERIAL WITH A DULL TO SLIGHTLY WAXY LUSTER.
