| Deposit | DEPOSIT IS CLASSIFIED AS A FOSSIL PLACER DEPOSIT, FOR WHICH THERE IS NO PUBLISHED MODEL. HOST ROCKS CONSIST OF JUR-CRET CALCAREOUS CLASTIC SEDIMENTARY ROCKS. SEVERAL BEDS OF THE SEQUENCE CONTAIN FOSSILS, PREDOMINANTLY BELEMNITES AND PELECYPODS. IRON MINERALS ARE DISSEMINATED IN A SANDY ARGILLITE BED, IN PART CALCAREOUS, ABOUT 100 FT THICK. MINERALIZATION IS NOT UNIFORM THROUGHOUT THE HOST BED |
