| Deposit | TWO DEPOSITS: THE UPPER DEPOSIT CONTAINS SPORADIC MANGANESE MINERALIZATION IN A SILICEOUS ZONE IN GREENSTONE. THE TREND OF THE ZONE APPEARS TO BE N. 65 W. AND THE DIP INDETERMINATE. THE DEPOSIT IS 110 FEET LONG, 25 FEET WIDE, AND 3-1/2 FEET DEEP. THE CHIEF MANGANESE MINERAL IS BEMENTITE WITH SMALLER AMOUNTS OF NEOTOCITE AND SUPERFICIAL MANGANESE OXIDES. THE LOWER DEPOSIT IS A SMALL BODY OF MANGANESE CONFINED TO THE RED ARGILLACEOUS LIMESTONE. THIS POD IS EXPOSED TO A DEPTH OF 6 FEET, IS 18 FEET LONG AND 15 FEET WIDE, AND APPEARS TO PINCH OUT IN DEPTH. THE TREND IS N. 65 W. AND THE DIP INDETERMINATE. MANGANESE MINERALS ARE ESSENTIALLY THE SAME AS THOSE IN THE UPPER DEPOSIT. |
