  • MINE LOCATED JUST SOUTH OF THE MAIN PORPHYRY CONTACT AT MORENCI. GARNET IN THE EXPOSED MODOC LIMESTONE FORMATION FORMS A CAP ROCK OF 75 TO 100 FT THICKNESS. PORPHYRY DIKES GENERALLY DO NOT CONTAIN ORE BUT ARE OCCASIONALLY CUT BY VERTICAL SEAMS OF PYRITE.
