Comments on the geologic information

  • ORE GENESIS: (MITCHELL, ET.AL., 1981) U AND SILICA WERE APPARENTLY LEACHED FROM OVERLYING VOLCANIC ROCKS OF THE MESA FM. AND PERCOLATED DOWNWARD TO CRET. LIMESTONE. ORGANIC MATTER AND DISSEMINATED PYRITE IN THE LIMESTONE PRODUCED A REDUCING ENVIRONMENT, RESULTING IN THE PRECIPITATION OF U IN A HEXAVALENT STATE. A SECOND URANIUM MINE IS LOCATED EITHER AT 28-55N OR 28-57N 105-40W IN SIMILAR ROCKS AND CALLED URANIO OR SOUTHERN SIERRA GOMEZ
