  • 5 SHAFTS AND ADITS. A LINE OF INCLINED SHAFTS FOLLOW THE N20 DEGREES STRIKE OF A FISSURE VEIN. THE INCLINES WERE SUNK ON THE 45 DEGREES- 60 DEGREES SW DIP SLOPE EXPOSING 1-2 FOOT THICK IRON-STAINED GOUGE ZONES THAT PARALLEL THE BEDDING PLANE OF THE LIMESTONE. MOST OF THE WORKINGS ARE FROM 30 TO 50 FEET DEEP AND WERE ALL DUG BY HAND. THERE ARE NO ROADS TO THE WORKINGS.
