Comments on the geologic information

  • WELL DEFINED DISCORDANT, QUARTZ-CARBONATE VEINS WERE EMPLACED IN CHLORITE-CARBONATEuALTERED INTERMEDIATE ROCKS. SOME VEIN MATERIAL SHOWS BANDING, OTHER ISuCHALCEDONIC. MINERALIZED QUARTZ IS OFTEN PINK OR RED; WHITE QUARTZ EMPLACEMENT POST-DATES ORE. CARBONATE GENERALLY POST-DATES QUARTZ VEINS. QUARTZ STRINGERS FROM THE MAIN VEIN TRANSECT THE METAMORPHIC CLEAVAGE. GOLD WAS MOSTLY IN NATIVE FORM AND QUITE FINE GRAINED.u VEIN IS DISPLACED BY BRITTLE FAULTS WITH A DISPLACEMENT OF MORE THAN 11u METERS. THIN VENEER OF COASTAL PLAIN SEDIMENTS OVERLIE THE AREA.
