Comments on the geologic information

  • HIGHLY SALINE LAKE BASIN DEVELOPED IN THE LATE MIOCENE ON SAMOS ISLAND. THE MIOCENE SEQUENCE CONTAINS BASAL CONGLOMERATE, LIMESTONE, TEPHRA, TUFFACEOUS ROCKS, MARLS, CLAYSTONE, AND SILICEOUS LIMESTONE. LATEST MIO-PLIOCENE SECTION UNCONFORMABLY OVERLIES THE BORATE-BEARING SEQUENCE (TUFF, SEDIMENTS INCLUDING MARL). SYNSEDIMENTARY FAULTING AND POST-DEPOSITIONAL TECTONIC ACTIVITY OCCURRED.

Economic information about the deposit and operations
