Deposit SHEAR ZONE WITH ELUVIAL WORKINGS ON TOP OF IT. WORKINGS OCCUR IN VOLCANIC ROCKS AT N EDGE OF GRANITE AND IN GRANITE ALONG ITS SOUTHERN MARGIN. NORTHERN WORKINGS IN 1937 WERE 2 OPEN CUTS 100-150 FT N OF GRANITE CONTACT (MARTIN'S AND BARKER'S CUTS) AND LIE 250 FT APART ON STRIKE, OLDER PIT TO W SO ZONE IS 1200 FT LONG AND ABOUT 40 FT WIDE. MARTIN'S CUT REMOVED ABOUT 1500 CU YDS WITH GRADE AVERAGING 0.048 OZ/CU YD OVER 21 FT WIDTH; BARKER'S CUT IS SIMILAR SIZE WITH UP TO 0.089 OZ/CU YD OVER 2 FT. GRAVEL NEAR DOWDINGS CUT IN SOUTHERN GROUP OF WORKINGS RAN 1.463 OZ/CU YD WITH USUALLY COARSE GOLD.
